Bootcamp-style workouts TRX Yoga Pints and Poses
Class Descriptions
SUP Yoga Indoor Are you looking to change up your yoga routine? Want a workout that will challenge your balance and core strength? Standup paddleboard (SUP) yoga is a fantastic way to infuse variety into your workout routine and try a new yoga practice. Indoor SUP Yoga is practiced on a paddleboard in the pool. With our paddleboards, we create floating mats by tethering the boards to the lane ropes. Moving through familiar poses and sequences in a less familiar setting, we have the opportunity to build core strength, balance and stability in a unique way...on a board, on top of the water. This is a great chance to try out SUP yoga for the first time or for experienced SUP Yoga students that want to keep their practice going through the winter months.
Level: SUP Yoga is suitable for all levels of ability. Length: 60 minutes Requirements: Participants should be comfortable getting in and out of the water. What to wear: Participants can wear any of the following: bathing suits, board shorts, rash guards, or dry wicking yoga wear.
SUP Fitness Indoor SUP Fitness combines SUP yoga with strength and cardio conditioning to create a total body workout. The paddle boards are tethered to swim lane ropes and used as floating gyms for this 60-minute session. Expect to have a great time while you practice balance, build strength, and challenge your stability.
Level: SUP Fitness is suitable for all levels of ability. Length: 60 minutes Requirements: Participants should be comfortable getting in and out of the water. What to wear: Participants can wear any of the following: bathing suits, board shorts, rash guards, or dry wicking yoga wear.
SUP Outdoor (offered from May - September) Experience yoga on a paddleboard in a quiet cove on Jordan Lake in Chapel Hill, Pittsboro, or other Triangle location. Challenge your body with a unique experience and alter your exercise routine with cardio and resistance training on a paddleboard. Together we will paddle, practice yoga or rock some burpees, then relax and paddle some more.
Level: Newcomers to SUP are encouraged to join as well as experienced paddlers. Before heading to the yoga or workout spot we spend time on SUP technique and paddling for 15 to 20 minutes. In both SUP yoga and SUP fitness, there are options for staying lower to the board to gain confidence and balance. With time, we move to our feet and practice standing poses and other more challenging postures and exercises. We will practice poses for all levels of ability. Length: 75 minutes*, 90 minutes*, 120 minutes* *Dependent on format. Requirements: Participants should be comfortable getting in and out of the water. What to wear: Participants can wear any of the following: bathing suits, board shorts, rash guards, or dry wicking yoga wear.
Bootcamp Get fit. Have fun. It’s cardio, it's core, it’s intervals, it’s games, it’s strength, and it’s a great way to get fit. Everyone is welcome to join in as we strengthen our bodies with weights, battling ropes, kettle balls, medicine balls, jump ropes, agility ladders, and our own body weight. The format varies from class to class and can include games, partner work, team efforts a individual exercises, and interval training. You will work hard but you will also find yourself smiling and never looking at the clock.
Sessions are held Indoors in winter and barring unseasonable conditions, outdoors in the spring, summer and fall. Level: All levels of abilities are welcome to boot camp. If you have never exercised or you are hesitant to try a new workout, this may be a good motivator. The hardest part of bootcamp is making the decision and effort to get to bootcamp. After that, the workout is just a really good time!
Level: All levels of abilities are welcome. Length: 60 minutes Requirements: Work hard, do your best, encourage others and believe in yourself and your strength. What to wear: Clothes that are comfortable and allow for movement. Location: Locations can be customized based on request.
TRX TRX is a 45 - 60 minute session that is a total body workout. We use the TRX system for the majority of our workout. However, I have been known to throw in some kettle balls, medicine balls, battling ropes, and hand weights. The TRX system is a fabulous piece of equipment that enables every user to work at their own pace with their own levels of intensity. For more on TRX, see https://www.trxtraining.com/. TRX is a favorite of mine and I think it will be yours too.
Level: All levels of abilities are welcome. Length: 45-60 minutes. Requirements: Work hard, do your best, encourage others and believe in yourself and your strength. What to wear: Clothes that are comfortable and allow for movement.
