INDOOR SUP YOGA AND FITNESS - scheduling private groups now...
Join Maria for SUP Yoga and SUP Fitness for your friends, family, co-workers..... at the Orange County Sportsplex in Hillsborough, NC! Maria can customize a class for your needs and interests. Both classes offer variety and a challenge for your yoga practice or your workout routine. With our paddleboards, we create floating mats by tethering the boards to the lane ropes. Moving through familiar poses, sequences, and exercises (in a less familiar setting), we have the opportunity to build core strength, balance, overall strength and stability in a unique way...on a board, on top of the water. This is a great chance to try out a paddleboard for the first time or for experienced SUP Yoga/SUP fitness/SUP students that want to keep their practice and workouts going through the winter months. Level: All levels of abilities are welcome (participants should be comfortable in and around water) Length: 60 minutes What to wear: Participants can wear any of the following: bathing suits, board shorts, rash guards, or dry wicking yoga wear. Chi Running Essentials and Yoga for Athletes Workshop - coming in late April/Early May
Join Kari Wllkinson and Maria Finnegan for this educational, interactive and engaging, half-day running & yoga workshop. All levels of runners and yoga students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
In the Chi Running Essentials workshop, Kari will guide participants through several exercises and drills designed to create a clear sense of what the Chi Running technique feels like in the body. Contrary to what you might think, participants will not be doing a lot of running. Instead, we spend time alternating between demonstrations, fun exercises and technique drills so that each participant leaves feeling inspired, empowered and ready to implement the chi running method on their own. Topics covered include: *The keys to effortless, injury-free running *The physics of running: run without using your legs *Chi running vs. power running *Intro to the chi running form *Injury prevention techniques *Person check-in tricks and tools *Core muscle drills and exercises *Innovative technique drills *How to conserve energy at any speed
In the Yoga for Athletes workshop, Maria will guide participants through several stretches, breathing techniques and yoga sequences designed to enhance and complement your running endeavors and athletic efforts. Throughout this 90 minute session, we will address those commonly "tight" muscles and learn how to safely stretch and open the body to improve flexibility, athletic performance and reduce injury. Students will leave class feeling relaxed and peaceful and will receive several sequences for their personal practice.

Every other Thursday from spring through late fall, I host a slow, flow yoga session at Mystery Brewing in Hillsborough, NC. There is no registration required and the fee for the class ($15) includes a Mystery Brewing pint. These classes are an opportunity to practice yoga in a unique setting with friends and then enjoy some social time at the pub. Join us. Classes will resume on April 19th, 6pm.
