Day 8.
Mash-Up Monday brings us movement and stillness. A balance of opposites. If you refer to your calendar, you will see that today's tasks are: -30 minutes of movement -10 minutes of meditation -8 glasses of water Movement can come in all forms. This could be a gym workout, a walk after work, a yoga class, three 10-minute exercise breaks during the day, etc. The idea is to add movement to your day. 10 minutes of mindfulness can also come in many forms. You might actually include mindfulness in your movement. Or you can separate this time out to two separate experiences. Meditation, active observation, listening, ... are all ways to include mindfulness in our day. Turning off devices, listening to our breath, being present are all mindful activities. Sitting still and quiet for 10 minutes of meditation might be a huge challenge for some of us. (it is for me!) You might have to break this up into two 5 minutes blocks. If you want to try meditating, there are two good apps I recommend: -- Headspace: Guided Meditation and Mindfulness, and -- Insight Timer: Meditation app Take time to think about and work on your goals too. Yesterday we reviewed our "I Can" statements. Keep those present throughout your day, whether just in mind or actually written down somewhere visible to you. These next three weeks comprise the work part of our spring training. We have all decided to give our best effort in this challenge and we are in this together. Please post here or use this group as a support as you move through your day. You so have this. You can so do this! Have a fantastic rest of your day.
